I can't launch 3DView from desktop icon
this is a java1.8u171 bug, change your java version or launch 3DView from web site.
3DView hangs on "Computing GUI data"
This is due to a local 3D system loading problem. You can try 2 solutions:
3DView hangs on "Reading values: time" and after "Finding library java.dll" in java console
You might have a 32bits java (no 64 bits mentionned in header of java console) on a 64bits operating System.
Uninstall java and install a new one from there
I get the message "Error during load: adding a container to a container on a different GraphicDevice"
You may have two screens. Initialize 3Dscene on your main screen, then move it to your secondary screen.
3DView stops with the following error in java console: "Exception in thread "Thread-7" java.lang.InternalError: XXX0 profile[2]: GL2 -> profileImpl GL3bc !!! not mapped"
The error occurs when initializing OpenGL and has been reported on Ubuntu 18.04 with an AMD/ATI graphic card and Mesa versions 19.2.8 and 20.0.8.
There is no workaround at this time.
I don't have an Oracle Java License, can I use OpenJDK ?
On the home page, the user guide includes a chapter for this in Prerequisites.
